Bendir is a North African frame drum with a thumb hole and simple snare mechanism on the underside of the head to create its characteristic buzzing sound. The Bendir is played with the hand and used in both secular and religious music. This Bendir is pretuned, has a 14 diameter head, and the shell is 3 1/2 deep.
