Goodyear shows retro branding for its 125th birthday

The ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen will see vehicles fitted with Goodyear tyres featuring a retro look. In total, Goodyear will equip 35 cars in various classes at the Nürburgring, including the Aston Martin, Mercedes AMG, Ferrari 296, Audi RB LMS of the GT3 class and Toyota Supra, Aston Martin and BMW M4 of the GT4 class. In addition, the TCR, BMW M240i and BMW M2 CS classes, as well as a number of smaller cars in the classification, will be exclusively fitted with Goodyear tyres. For the cars, with sometimes considerable differences in the set-up, Goodyear provides a total of 50 different tyre specifications on site to meet the demands of the teams. The Wingfoot logo has its origins in Greek mythology. Mercury, the messenger of the gods, once inspired Goodyear’s co-founder Frank Seiberling who then suggested the winged shoes as a suitable emblem for the brand. 125 years later, the current Wingfoot design is synonymous with Goodyear and represents both the brand and stands for the company’s technological progress to this day.
