Giffard Blue Curaçao Liqueur — Bitters & Bottles

Giffard Blue Curaçao Liqueur — Bitters & Bottles

Liqueur of a deep blue Caribbean color with a fine flavor of bitter and sweet oranges. Velvety nose, with strong notes of candied oranges, very pleasant floral bouquet (sweet and bitter oranges). Round and creamy mouth with an aromatic body dominated by citrus notes.

For the newest release from Ancho Reyes the original ancho spirit was barrel aged for 2 years in American White Oak casks. This batch of ‘Barrica Riserva’ was created with the intention of providing an elegant sipping experience. The time in the cask allows unique subtleties of the rich and smokey flavor to blend with baking spice and rich oaky vanilla creating an alluring and subversive balance of spices and warmth.

As with most of Heimat's liqueurs, there’s an authentic backstory with Black Currant before the founder Ute ever came to New York. In Europe, currants (both black and red) are commonly found in desserts, jams, syrups, and of course juices. Having grown up with currants being an everyday kind of fruit, Ute was surprised that currants are relatively unknown and underutilized in the US. Then one day she was introduced to the owner of Current C, Greg Quinn, and he explained how in 2003 he helped overturn the 100-year old ban on growing currants in the state. Ute's love of Black Currants was rekindled, and she spent the next 12 months perfecting the ideal technique to offer you a liqueur that brings out the incredible richness of this amazing fruit. Bottled at 21% abv.
One could say this is where it all began - the liqueur that inspired Heimat New York dates back to the blackberries that grew abundantly in the garden of the founder's Oma. Fortunately they were able to source some blackberries the past two years after the crop at the farm was completely wiped out by a powerful storm in late spring. These blackberries are from the Hudson Valley by a farmer who leaves the blackberries on the vine a short time longer to allow for an extra bit of sweetness. Bottled at 20% abv.
Did you know that after planting, it takes three years before Rhubarb begins yielding a typical harvest? It's probably New York's most overlooked crop but one of Heimat New York's most beloved. It's smooth, elegant, and somehow sublime - and once you've had your first bottle, you'll understand what we mean. Bottled at 32% abv.
There are more than 300 varieties of peaches still grown in the US. Of the several varieties in New York (most can't stand the winters!) Heimat chose white peach for how well the aroma and taste blends together. This white peach liqueur creates a classic bellini, but allows you to be as creative as you want to be with all kinds of spirits and cocktails. Bottled at 19% abv.

The Genuine Curacao Liqueur is the only truly authentic curacao in the world, sourcing its lahara oranges from a single plantation on Curacao. The oranges are harvested by hand while slightly underripe when the peel is most suitable for liqueur production. Each peel is cut into four pieces using a wooden knife, because a metal knife will stain the peels. The pieces of peel are dried on a metal plate in sunlight for approximately five days.
