This 4-port unmanaged switch has two slots for 10/100/1000M with RJ45 connectors and two slots for 1G fiber optic SFP modules that assure stable and reliable Ethernet transmission. This switch is more appropriate for applications where linear bus topology is used. The 2 slots for 1G SFP fiber modules (sold separately) readily support a drop-and-add configuration at each node along the f.o. cable bus. The use of f.o. cable in this type of application can significantly improve overall network speed, while providing security and immunity to EMI/RFI.As with all VERSITRON products, the SG70460 carries a lifetime warranty. Steps of installation
Examine the SFP slots and install the SFP module into one of them.
Insert the fiber optic cable into the SFP module and connect the other end to the fiber network.
Connect the UTP cable from the network device to the RJ-45 port.
Connect the power adapter to the switch and check the LED lights.
The SFP LEDs and TP Act will light up quickly if all connections are properly made.
