This technology works by increasing the heat resistance of the filament itself to 140°C. This keeps your nozzle from jamming by reducing the problem of heat creep. Heat creep is when your hotend heats the filament, and the heat creeps up the filament. This causes melting outside the desired area, known as the melt zone. This leads to your printer pushing more filament into the hotend then it thinks, causing jams. The increased heat resistance reduces heat creep, allowing you to print without having to worry about nozzle jams. Note: The increased heat resistance of the filament does not lead to increased heat resistance in the printed part. Final part heat resistance for PolyLite PLA is similar to most PLAs: around 60°C.
