An unusual pencil from Caran d'Ache, made from Swiss Beech rather than the traditional cedar wood, the Caran d'Ache 348 is both thicker and heavier than normal pencils. Beech wood isn't normally this dark, so it has been stained which accentuates the white embossing on the shaft. Another neat design touch is that the end of the pencil has been dipped in a rich red paint and finished with a Swiss flag. HB lead only.
