Ce rhum est produit au Panama et stocké jusqu'à 18 ans, la finition en fûts de sherry andalous étant exceptionnelle.
Le Bumbu XO n'est pas une ancienne version du Bumbu Original Spiced Rum. Avec cette eau-de-vie de canne à sucre, aucun arôme n'est ajouté par la suite. Par ailleurs, le spiritueux est produit au Panama et distribué par la Sovereign Brands Wine & Spirits Company de New York. Après la distillation, le rhum Bumbu XO mûrit jusqu'à 18 ans en fûts de chêne blanc américain et reçoit sa finition en fûts de sherry. Cela lui procure des notes de caramel, de chêne rôti, de vanille, de zeste d'orange, de poivre épicé et un peu de café. Le rhum est embouteillé dans une bouteille noire et lourde, fermée par un bouchon en liège naturel, ce qui rappelle inévitablement l'époque des pirates et des marins.
